This Privacy Policy explains how the WhyMin app ("WhyMin," "the app," "we," "us," or "our") handles information. WhyMin helps you pause before opening selected apps by asking why you are opening them and how long you want to use them.
The short version: WhyMin does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information. App selections and focus session data stay on your device. We do not operate analytics, advertising, tracking, or account servers for this app.
1. Information we collect
We do not collect personal information. WhyMin has no user accounts, no sign-in, no developer-operated server, no analytics SDK, and no advertising SDK. We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, device identifiers, usage analytics, or other personal data.
The app uses Apple's Screen Time related frameworks so that you can select apps to guard and temporarily unblock them after a check-in. The selected app tokens, selected reason, timer duration, and active session state are stored locally on your device to make the app work. They are not sent to us or to third parties.
2. How your data is stored
WhyMin stores app state locally on your device using app storage and a shared app group container used by the main app and its extensions. This local data remains under your control on your device.
3. Screen Time permission
WhyMin asks for Screen Time permission so you can choose apps and apply shields. This permission is used only to provide the app's core blocking and temporary-unblocking features. You can manage Screen Time permissions in iOS Settings.
4. No tracking, no advertising, no third parties
WhyMin does not:
- track you across apps or websites,
- show advertising,
- include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs,
- send your app usage data to us,
- sell or share personal information.
5. Purchases
WhyMin offers optional in-app purchases (WhyMin Premium: a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, and a one-time lifetime unlock). All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive, store, or have access to your payment information. Your entitlement status (whether Premium is active) is stored locally on your device so the app and its widget can unlock Premium features. 6. Children's privacy
WhyMin is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because no personal data is collected or transmitted, the app does not gather information from children.
7. Data retention and deletion
Because WhyMin data lives on your device, you control it. You can change selected apps in the app. Deleting WhyMin from your device removes the app's local data stored on that device. Because we do not receive your data, there is no personal data for us to delete from a server.
8. Your rights
Since we do not collect or process your personal data, we do not hold personal information that can be accessed, corrected, ported, or deleted by us. If you have questions, contact us and we will help as best we can.
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected in the app or its App Store listing.
